Rotary offers many structured programs designed to advance the organization’s ultimate goal of world understanding and peace. The programs range in scope from educational and intercultural to humanitarian. Each program is designed to help clubs and districts achieve service goals in their communities and abroad.
Rotary Community Corps (RCC) is a group of non-Rotarian men and women who share Rotarian’s commitment to service. A sponsoring Rotary club organizes and utilizes the skills of these people to improve the quality of life in their communities. This leads to the promotion of grassroots projects that maximize local resources and develop local leadership abilities.

Rotary Volunteers is a program that increases awareness of Rotarians and non-Rotarians of volunteer opportunities. The program assists clubs and districts to develop community service projects that address the needs of their communities and fosters fellowship and goodwill.

World Community Service pairs Rotary clubs from around the world. The WCS program links Rotary clubs needing extra help for service projects in their community with clubs in other countries that are willing to provide funds, materials, and technical and professional assistance.

Rotary Youth Exchange fosters international understanding by giving thousands of young people the opportunity to meet people from other lands and cultures. Students spend up to a year in the home of a Rotary family in a foreign country.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 14-18. Through service activities, students learn leadership skills and personal integrity while demonstrating helpfulness and civic responsibility. They also meet new friends with shared values.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18-30. The club helps members develop leadership and professional skills while serving their community and the world.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is Rotary’s training program for young leaders, emphasizing leadership, citizenship and personal growth. It’s a program of mentoring, inspiring and helping youth meets their goals.

The Open World program is a special program available to Rotary Clubs in the United States. This program, operated by the Open World leadership Center at the U.S. Library of Congress is designed to promote friendship and understanding between Russia and the United States. Each participating Rotary club hosts five Russian participants and develops a program of study that allows the participants to learn more about specific aspects of American life during intensive, short-term visits.

Rotary Friendship Exchange is just that: Rotarians and their families exchanging visits in each other’s homes in other countries. There are three types of Friendship Exchanges:
Visitor Program. Individual Rotarians spend a few days in the home of a Rotarian in another country. Family members may be included.
Team Program. Rotarian couples visit several communities in a host district for up to one month.
Uni-vocational. Host and guest Rotarians of the same occupation visit observe and discuss how their job is done in other countries.

Rotary Fellowships program is organized by Rotarians for Rotarians to develop new friendships and advance opportunities for service. Rotary Fellowships reflect the varied interests and occupations of Rotarians Worldwide. Currently there are more than 75 fellowships ranging from accounting to land-mine removal, from polio survivors to quilters and fiber artists. There’s a fellowship for Rotarians with hearing loss and one for newsletter editors. Whatever your interest, there’s probably a Rotary Fellowship waiting for you to join!
